Our YTT equips you to integrate movement, breath, and mindfulness into the demands of military life—helping service members recover, adapt, and perform at their best.
This training is specifically designed for Active Duty, veterans, and family of military to teach these audiences.

Content to be Covered:
We offer all the requirements to comply with Yoga Alliance standards in addition to teaching how to incorporate the tools of yoga into the the military culture, particularly through PT.
This training will be led by TRIBE’s co-founder, Amy Gatzemeyer.
Yoga classes and some course material will be taught by TRIBE teachers.
Many of our teachers are active military members and veterans themselves and can provide personal expertise in bringing the tools of yoga to the military.
2026 Schedule:
Participants are required to complete 200 hours of training “in-person” in order to qualify for Yoga Alliance standards. This includes one 3-hour meeting each week (likely on Wednesday, although we will meet with all qualified applicants to finalize) and two 1-hour asana session each week. Additionally, attendance is required at the following weekend sessions:

What You’ll Learn in TRIBE’s Yoga Teacher Training
Our YTT is designed to prepare you to bring yoga directly into the military community. Training covers both the foundations of yoga and the unique needs of service members. Topics include:
Fundamentals of Asana – Learn safe and effective ways to teach yoga poses.
Anatomy & Injury Awareness – Understand movement and common injuries in the military population.
Sequencing & Program Design – Build yoga classes and integrate yoga into PT programs.
Yoga Philosophy – Explore key principles and how they connect with military culture.
Breathwork (Pranayama) – Use breathing techniques to improve balance, focus, and endurance.
Mindfulness & Meditation – Teach practices that support resilience, stress management, and recovery.
Ethics of Yoga – Bring integrity, respect, and cultural sensitivity to your teaching.
