Aloha mai kākou! ("Greetings to All")
After more than 20 years in the legal arena, predominantly assisting with the prosecution of federal crimes for the U.S. Department of Justice, Taryn chose to pivot from her career in law to pursue a heart-centered mission. Her work is now dedicated to bringing mindfulness practices, resiliency, and holistic wellness modalities to anyone seeking a state of equilibrium and nervous system regulation.
Her evidence-based, trauma-informed approach is designed for anyone navigating life’s front lines and is a sanctuary for those in trauma affected communities. The reach of her yoga-movement classes, meditations, presentations, and workshops extends to members of Military Communities (U.S. & International); Individuals in Recovery from narcotics, alcohol, and/or substance abuse or addiction; High-performers like CEO and CFOs, Judges and Lawyers, and Professional Athletes; as well as Women navigating the transformative journey of pregnancy.
Taryn is a 500-hours Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500), a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), and an iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher (IAYT). With additional course study as a Certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher, she routinely provides services to those with loss of use, or missing limbs; those with traumatic brain injury (TBI), Repeated Blast Exposure (RBE), Repetitive Head Impact (RHI), and Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE); in addition to those with Post Traumatic Stress/Disorder (PTS/D). She integrates gentle, strong, soft, and fiery elements into her classes, while interweaving proprioceptive awareness so her student/client can make the link between their breath, mind, and body.
Drawing upon her military background as a U.S. Navy veteran and a 3rd generation Armed Services member, Taryn blends her formal yoga training with her own lived experience to create a uniquely tailored, safe container for her students/clients. She is deeply sensitive to the specific needs of trauma-affected populations, offering comfort through modified postures for those navigating unique physical challenges. Taryn’s approach is rooted in providing evidence-based and trauma-conscious movement, meditation, and resiliency modalities.
After discovering how somatic practices and meditation provided a vital pathway for coping with the cumulative stresses of military-associated trauma and the secondary trauma of a high-stakes legal career, Taryn felt a profound calling to share these transformative tools. This personal resonance fueled her dedicated study of resiliency and evidence-based protocols, allowing her to bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and modern science. Having personally experienced the efficacy of these methods, she is now committed to helping others navigate their own journeys toward healing and empowerment.
